i looked at every single PFW look so you don't have to
never beating the addictive personality allegations
For the life of me I can’t finish a TV show, most books, or any project that I start (cue my 50+ Substack drafts). However, when it comes to looking at clothes, I’m a completist. If I’m surfing a brand’s website, I have to look through every page of items. And apparently, the same goes for looking at Paris Fashion Week looks.
I’m no high fashion expert. In fact, I only recently learned that you can look at runway show pics online. But hey, I fully committed to the bit ok? So you gotta give me some credit.

Everything Chloé, because duh, but especially the asymmetrical shell earrings featured in looks 32, 37, 44, and 47. Dries Van Noten also featured many asym earrings, but Chloé did it in a quirky, glam mermaid way that simply speaks to my eternally girly soul.
Aquamarine : [about wearing starfish for earrings] “They literally give me compliments - in my ear… Starfish are notorious suck-ups.”
While we’re on the topic of exceptionally cool mermaids, let’s talk about Look 5 from Florentina Leitner. It gave Ariel but like, way better than Coperni’s overtly mermaid take. I love everything about this look.
Firstly, the headband with icy water droplets trickling down the model’s flames of hair is gorgeous. I need one ASAP!
Secondly, I am a bow-truther and love the tunic’s delicate combination of ribbon and tulle. PSA for all the bow haters out there: bows were all over PFW— they’re not going anywhere anytime soon.
Thirdly, the color combo is immaculate. The red hair + seafoam dress + ambiguously dark pants + chunky silver shoes is *chef’s kiss”.
VS.
The entire Sacai show, despite my never having heard of Sacai before. It was simple and preppy but with a girlish twist. The collection had everything I hold near and dear: fluffy things, bows, and knee high boots. Moreover, Sacai made these traditionally cutesy elements look sleek and elegant.
Ever since Massie Block graced the hallways of OCD middle school, I’ve loved a double breasted mini skirt/dress moment.
4. This bug looking thing from Courrèges. The hoof-esque footwear is an added bonus. After reading additional coverage of PFW, apparently this show was inspired by a mobius strip. We love nerdy fashion, so double bonus!
Paradis has alerted me to the fact that I need an oversized, cursive, monogram belt buckle
and YSL has given me a glorious new jewel tone color palette to draw inspiration from.
7. These stuffed animal, Jeff Koons looking, arm-hugging purses from Maison Mihara Yasuhiro. It’s creative and of the moment, yet also sentimental. These literal “clutches” remind me of the currently trendy arm cuff over too-long-sleeves. They also remind me of how my stuffed animals might cling to me should they gain consciousness.
8. I’ve seen a lot of people shitting on the Valentino show, but TBH some of their looks were my favorites of the entire season.
then I’d throw on Look 34 for the evening, after returning to the Slytherin common room. Very Blair Waldorf. Look 48 reminds me of a nerdy kid I’d befriend in elementary school. Also, the bug-eyed glasses + bug-eyed deer broach are an endearing motif.
9. Gloves are all over the runway for PFW but Lutz Huelle did it best. I love how the models’ hands literally look coated in sparkles, seamlessly blending intro her gown.Of course I wouldn’t be me if I left out this lovely bow and headband moment from Celine.
Hoop skirts/dresses were BIG this season, as were garments constructed to look wind blown. Loewe’s were most prominent, but my favorite was from Caroline Hú.
PFW but it’s a Rorschach test
I’m going to leave you with some associations that popped into my head as my brain attempted to process the hundreds of looks from Paris Fashion Week.
Misc notes:
We’re still in the girl-ification of everything era. Lace, bows, and chintz abound.
Everyone who’s not girlbossing is deconstructing, reconstructing, and wearing things not as they’re meant to be worn. Personally, I gravitate more towards things I would actually wear so the conceptual, architectural stuff is not my cup of tea. I also find the anti-functional fixedness movement gives slight ‘I’m not like other girls’ vibes.
and of course, per this week’s earlier post
Phew, that was a lot. I saw something earlier today about Summer 2025 looks being shown soon and idk how y’all in the fashion industry do it. I’m pooped.
